Zoning

The organization and separation of workplaces and production lines within plants according to instructions worked out in layout, optimization or 5S activities. The zoning defines the exact position of aisles, machines, equipment, and storage, working, and safety areas. Main elements of zoning are the visual marking of the floor (e.g. with paint or marking tape) and identification signs (e.g. displays, labels) to describe what the zone represents and what needs to be placed or done in the specific zone.
