Single-Minute Exchange of Die (SMED)

A method to optimize the changeover in production lines from one reference to the other. Tools, equipment, and machines are designed to support a quick changeover and to convert the manufacturing process. The changeover should take less than 10 minutes (single-minute). Die stands for tool (equipment) used in the manufacturing process.
