MURI

Japanese expression for “unreasonableness, too difficult, overburden”. In the context of lean manufacturing, muri is part of improvement activities in order to split/review the manufacturing process into manageable, simple, and repeatable steps and to define standardized work descriptions (see Standardized Work).
